The parishes of St. George in Prescott and Holy Cross in Flagstaff are co-sponsoring a Northern AZ OCF College retreat the weekend of March 1st – 3rd. The theme of the retreat is “Sharing Your Faith When Nobody’s Listening” and will be led by Fr. Jordan Brown, Dean of Holy Trinity GOC Cathedral in Portland, OR. Fr. Mario Giannopoulos from Holy Transfiguration GOC in Ogden, UT will join us as well to lead discussions with the group. Registration is limited to the first 20 OCF registrants (though, truth be told, we’ll find room for as many as we get!) The retreat is set to begin in Flagstaff Friday afternoon with ice-breakers, dinner, our opening session, and a run into town for coffee or chai. We will stay in Flagstaff through lunch on Saturday (God willing, doing a bit of skiing or snow-shoeing at Snow Bowl in the morning) before moving down to Prescott in the afternoon for vespers, dinner, an evening session, and time for confessions Saturday evening. St. George is hosting a lunch for us after liturgy on Sunday and we’ll have our wrap-up session in downtown Flagstaff for ice-cream or cocoa to end the retreat!
You will need to bring or find (or let us know that you need) a sleeping bag and pillow, the usual change of clothes for a day of outdoor activities, overnight toiletries, and Church clothes for Sunday. Please make plans to join us! Frs. Jordan and Mario are wonderful speakers and I am sure you will be encouraged in your faith by attending. Please call Fr. Apostolos with any questions at 928-777-8750!
