Clergy


The clergy who serve St. George are dedicated to the preaching of the Gospel, the evangelization of every soul in the Tri-City area (and beyond), and preservation of the Orthodox Christian faith as that treasure

“once and for all delivered to the saints.” Jude 1:3

Fr. John A. Peck – Priest in Charge

Fr. John has been with us since Feb. 2008. Fr. John received his B.A. in English Literature from Michigan State University. He graduated from St. Herman Theological Seminary in Kodiak, Alaska, after serving as Administrator, and teaching courses in Introductory Speech and Communications, English Literature and Composition, Religious Education, and Orthodox Christian Psychology. He completed courses towards a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He was granted a D.Min. by Veritas Theological Seminary in 2009. His thesis the book “Called To Serve: A Basic Bible Survey for Orthodox Christians.” He is also the founder and director of the Preachers Institute.

Fr. William John Clark – Emeritus

Fr. Bill, a long time friend of St. George, assists liturgically and pastorally. A priest of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), Father Bill serves under Archbishop Nathaniel in the Romanian Episcopate. He actively served in law enforcement in Florida City, FL, and studied Opera for many years.  After converting from Roman Catholicism to the Orthodox faith in 1986, he studied theology with the St. Stephen’s Theology Course through the Antiochian Archdiocese. He was ordained to the Diaconate in 2001, and two years later to the Holy Priesthood at the age of 66!  Fr. Bill regularly serves as supply priest for clergy all over the southwest, but we count him one of us, as he is most often seen here in Prescott.

Fr. Andrew Barakos – Vicar

Fr. Andrew is the Vicar of the Southwest Vicariate, and a brilliant writer and pastor. Since 1995, Fr. Andrew Barakos has been the priest of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is currently, the vicar of the southwestern region of the Metropolis of San Francisco. Fr. Andrew is a board member of the Trustees, Hellenic College/Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, the Metropolis Council of San Francisco and the Commission on Missions and Evangelism. His dedication to serving the people who established St. George has kept clergy coming to preach the Gospel and serve the sacraments for over a decade. He is a past member of the Archdiocesan Council of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Metropolitan Gerasimos – Bishop

His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos was born in Kalamata, Greece to Nicholas and Anastasia Michaleas. Upon successful completion of his elementary and secondary school education in Greece, he immigrated to the United States. In 1970, he enrolled at Hellenic College in Brookline, Massachusetts, where he received his B.A. with High Honors in 1973. That same year, he was admitted to Holy Cross School of Theology, where he completed his M.Div. Degree in 1976 with High Honors.  He received his Doctorate in Counseling and School Psychology in 1993. His doctoral dissertation is titled, “Intellectual Deficiencies in a Substance Abuse Population.”

He is the author of a number of articles published in periodicals in the area of psychology, and is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
